News and Announcements
We will be tearing down the soccer fields tomorrow (Wed) starting at 5pm. We’ll be there until they are all done (leaving the 2 largest travel fields up near the ice rink). We will tear down both Rec and travel fields. It doesn’t take long with a lot of hands – kids welcome to join and help pick up zip ties after we cut the nets down. Please join if you can! Bring snippers to cut zip ties if you have some. Thank you!!
Several Rec Fields have standing water, so the fields are closed today – no practices. Please remember after the games this coming Saturday morning there is a 25th Anniversary Celebration at Imagination Station that is open to all families in our community from 10am – 1pm. Enjoy free food, bounce houses, games, prizes and many other activities going on there!
1. Please remember the fundraiser drawing is this coming Saturday! Turn in all ticket stubs and money to coaches ASAP.
2. ALL Rec team League Photo this Saturday! Please hold your kids at the fields after 9am games are over for a league photo with all 320 kids and 62 coaches! Photo will be at 10am before the 2nd games start. 11am games – please join us at 10am for the photo in the middle of the game area.
3. Smoking – smoking is not banned from our public park but please be courteous of all players and spectators at practices and games. Kids cannot leave the game area to get away from it and we have many with asthma issues that cannot be around it. Please walk away from the fields before lighting up! Please don’t leave butts on the ground for small kids to find either.
There were many parking issues on Saturday at the games. Cars must be parked in designated areas, lots and parking spaces. They cannot be parked on the main street in the park (or on the sidewalk/walking path). There are many nearby parking lots, parking spaces, and public streets that can be used. We actually have MORE parking available to us with the game fields being located where they are this year. See attached map for available parking areas highlighted in red. Please be courteous to the many grandparents and great-grandparents that enjoy the games as well, but cannot walk as far as others. Please try to keep the closest lot (highlighted in blue right next to the fields) open for those with disabilities or who are unable to walk as far. Plan ahead to walk a short distance to the games on Saturday mornings. Be patient and cautious of children around you. There are 320 kids playing on Saturday mornings. Add all of their parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, etc and there are a LOT of people at the park at once. We are all there to enjoy watching little ones play soccer!

ALL Rec soccer games will be held on the same fields that practices are held (SE end of Recreation Park at the corner of Ave A and Center St). Game seating maps were given to all coaches to hand out to parents. Parents must sit on the opposite side of the field as players. Game schedules indicate N/S/E/W fields so you know which field you play on. Players must have shin guards in order to play in games. NO CLEATS WITH A TOE CLEAT ARE ALLOWED (softball/baseball/football cleats). This is for the safety of all children and to not tear up the fields. Tennis shoes are perfectly acceptable to play in! Arrive early as parking may be congested and you may have to walk a short distance to the fields. Please remember game etiquette and be kind to all coaches, volunteers, players and refs. Taunting of any kind will not be tolerated. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!
